Some One's Sons are a five-piece Irish folk band from Mullingar, in the heart of Ireland.

The Sons are noted for their rich harmonies, charismatic and lively sets, while handling ballads with a delicate and passionate touch.

Some One’s Sons have been riding a wave of success, with a sold-out concert in Liverpool, and headline gigs at renowned venues such as the Róisín Dubh and the Grand Social, and performances on TG4 Live, and BBC Merseyside.

Their TG4 Live performance during the 2023 Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, amassed over 16,000 live viewers, and over 65,000 viewers on YouTube.

The band have been embarking on a summer tour, supporting renowned acts like Seán Keane, George Murphy, The Fureys and the Wolfe Tones, along with a headline performance at Whelan’s, and festivals including Electric Picnic, Galway Folk Fest, Fleadh Thoraigh, the Lakeland Sessions, RiverFest and the main stage of the Fleadh Cheoil.

Some One’s Sons consists of Daniel Allen, brothers Greg and Ger Dunne, Ross Gavin and Joe Monaghan. They play an ensemble of instruments on stage, including Bouzouki, Guitar, Banjo, Fiddle, Tin Whistle and Bass Guitar.

Lead singers Daniel and Greg’ voices compliment each other beautifully in both ballads and upbeat tunes. Daniel’s voice blends sweet tones, reminiscent of the late Jim McCann, with an unrefined ruggedness, similar to that of Tom and Paddy Clancy. Greg commands a tenor that is both unique and yet timeless in nature, often compared with Luke Kelly and Tommy Makem.

This new track [One More Minute] from Mullinger-based Irish folk band will bring tears to your eyes. The track is a gut-wrenching ballad that speaks to the difficulties that come along with grief. The track is emotional and harmonic and feels like it was made with love.
